Other community bands in our region
Unless otherwise noted, most community bands welcome guests to sit in. Exceptions might occur in final rehearsals before a concert. Usually, if you're in the area, and have your instrument, you will be welcome to play. As Lynne says, "If you don't have your instrument, well, there is always the percussion section. They can always use someone who can count and hit things at the right time and in the right place."
- Anchorage Community Concert Band
- The Anchorage Community Concert Band (ACCB) rehearses Tuesday nights starting the third Tuesday in September, continuing through the first Tuesday in December, then breaks for the holidays. Rehearsals begin again the third Tuesday in January, continuing through the first Tuesday in May. Rehearsal time is 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Romig Middle School, 2500 Minnesota Drive, Anchorage.
- The band has two formal concerts, usually on the first Saturday of December and the first Saturday in May.
- The ACCB, also plays for various community events including two concerts at the Anchorage Saturday Markets.

- Chugiak Community Band
- The Chugiak Eagle River Community Band starts rehearsing the first Thursday of the public school year, continuing through the December Concert. After a holiday break, the band returns to rehearsal on Thursdays with the start of the public school year in Januray. Rehearsals continue through May. The Chugiak Eagle River Community Band also plays for community events and hopes to continue summer concerts once a month at the Eagle River Commons Band Shell.
- Rehearsals for the Chugiak Eagle River Community Band are Thursdays from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Mirror Lake Middle School, 22901 Lake Hill Dr. Chugiak, North Peters Creek Exit.
